Real Good Fudgy Brownies!

Valentine’s Day is just 3 days away and this holiday always makes me think of decadent chocolate brownies. Give your loved ones something homemade and different from a box of chocolates full of weird flavours and jammy fillings- we all got enough of those at Christmas. Make these fudgy brownies for your sweetheart or…for yourself πŸ˜‰

I got this recipe from an awesome YouTube video featuring Chef Thomas Joseph, where he describes the difference between making cakey brownies and fudgy brownies. Check out the video here. I’m sure most of us like fudgy brownies, so give this a try:

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 stick of unsalted butter (1/2 cup)
  • 6 oz. bittersweet chocolate
  • 1 1/2 cups of granulated sugar (or brown sugar for a chewy brownie)
  • 1/4 cup of cocoa powder
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp. of flour
  • Pinch of salt

For the instructions on how to make the brownies, go ahead and check out the video to see his techniques and tips! He can definitely explain it better than I can.
These brownies were a hit! I usually kind of suck at making brownies, but honestly, it all depends on the recipe. With a crunchy outside and papery top and a gooey, fudgy inside, these brownies are perfect for satisfying your chocolate cravings.

Another great idea would be to add in mix-ins like walnuts or pecans or for a festive Valentine’s look, add strawberries and drizzle some melted chocolate on top. Yum!!

Let me know in the comments if you try these out and how it worked for you. I’ll definitely be making these brownies more often!

Happy Valentine’s Day! Treat yourself! πŸ™‚
